Uccello Jewellery & Watches is a proud family-owned and operated jewellery business, owned by husband and wife David and Deborah Szigeti, with both their son and daughter working in the business.

For our family, jewellery isn’t justa product, it’s personal, meaningful, and something that should last a lifetime.

With over 36 years of experience in the jewellery and watch industry, David brings a rare depth of knowledge and craftsmanship to Uccello. His career began at Dunklings the Jewellers, where he started as a despatch clerk before moving into the repair and service department at the Victorian head office. This is where he built strong foundations in jewellery and watchmaking, and developed a deep respect for traditional trade skills.

David later progressed through the business into retail sales and management, and completed a Diploma of Retail Management at La Trobe University. After leaving Dunklings, he continued expanding his expertise by working in the second-hand jewellery and watch industry at a wholesale level, further strengthening his understanding of both quality and value.

He went on to establish his own wholesale jewellery business in Melbourne, later relocating to South Yarra.

Uccello Jewellery & Watches has been trading since 1998, and over the past 16 years has focused on building a trusted retail presence in Altona. We recognised there was a real need for an independent jeweller that still offers the kind of “old school” knowledge, care, and workmanship that has become harder to find.

We’re also proud to be actively involved in our local community. Uccello is a member of the Altona Village Traders Association (AVTA), where Deborah has served on the committee for the past three years in various roles. David has also previously contributed to the committee, including serving as Treasurer and Vice President.
