Our Story
David Szigeti, the owner of Uccello, has been in the jewellery and watch industry for over 32 years. His experience is comprehensive and unique. David has had many opportunities to work in numerous areas of the jewellery and watch industry, starting at Dunklings the Jewellers as a despatch clerk. David then moved into the repair and service department of Dunklings' Victorian head office where he expanded his knowledge in relation to jewellery and watch making. He progressed through the business, working in retail sales and management and completed a Diploma in Retail Management at Latrobe University.
After leaving Dunklings the Jewellers he undertook working for a jewellery and watch second hand dealer at a wholesale level which again augmented his knowledge of the industry.
David’s professional journey continued when he started his own wholesale based business in the city, later moving to South Yarra.
Uccello Jewellery & Watches has been trading since 1998. Its original focus was jewellery supplied to order, buying and selling pre-owned watches and jewellery and a range of leather and exotic skin watch bands. Later adding swiss watch brand watch parts and repair.
Over the last 13 years attention has been on creating and developing a retail presence in Hobsons Bay. It came to our attention that a business like ours is no longer the norm and there was an opening for an independent jewellery store offering old school jewellery skills and services. Incorporating over 33 years of jewellery trade knowledge we bring together a truly unique jewellery store experience. The store covers all aspects of our specialities, which includes, Swiss and Japanese brand watches, jewellery design, jewellery remodelling, jewellery and watch repairs, buying and selling pre-owned jewellery and watches.

- Altona Village Traders Association (AVTA) – Member. David Szigeti (owner) has been on the executive committee of AVTA , 3 years as Treasurer. AVTA's role is to help local traders, run local events and work with local council.
- Sponsorship – Kooringal Golf Club – 28 years.
- Donates to Challenge and Rotary yearly.
Supports local school fund raising events.
